Elaine’s favorite game is Two Truths and a Lie. So, let’s play. Two of the following statements are true, one is not. Your guess!
1. Elaine has been to the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, the Pyramids of Egypt, and the Temple of Angkor Wat.
2. Elaine is descended from Singaporean royalty.
3. Elaine can rap all of Salt N’ Pepa’s “Shoop” without looking at the words.
OK, here’s the real bio. It’s not written in the third person.
I am actually a Rubik’s Cube solver. I can do it (usually) in less than 2 minutes. My best time ever was 1:13. Hence, the random cubing pictures below. In terms of acting… My first memory is from performing in a play when I was 3 years old. All I remember is that there were three princes who had to give me gifts in the play, and I had to choose the one that I loved the most. I have no idea what this play was actually about, but I do know that I LOVED it. Boys? Gifts? YES! And therefore, an actor was born.
Cut to 19 years later. I graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a degree in Psychology and an almost degree in Mathematics. Upon graduation, I realized that the academic route was something that I had no interest in and that I wanted to pursue acting. My parents, amazingly, were incredibly supportive. I moved to Los Angeles, and since then I have appeared in television shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Chuck, Californication, The Mentalist, New Girl, and I’m happy to say, many more! I’ve also been a part of a few award-winning musical stage performances and have written, produced, or directed several short films – one of which was sold at the Cannes Film Festival (which was unbelievable and very much due to my amazing producing partner!).
I love being an actor in Los Angeles and being surrounded by talented, ambitious, creative people. This is a hard career to pursue, without any guarantees of success. So please, give me a job. Thank you for reading all of this.
